My client for this project was an indie, self-published author. His book offered advice and solutions on how to bring stability and growth back to the country without favoring any particular party. The client suggested a visual of a big red button on the cover. I created a cartoon illustration around this concept in order to add a little humor and tone down the “panic” button idea a little. The cartoon gave the book a literary look reminiscent of political editorials. I used the Helvetica Neue font family to reinforce that reference and made use of its large variation in font weights, from narrow to extended.
